The shop seems to be working really well now!* Go visit (browse, shop, admire the cute)! =>

This is an update to this issue, posted earlier today. (I’m not sure when this was fixed, because I had to step away.)

Also: While I was under the weather the team at styleowner fixed/improved the sharing buttons. Now, those Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Facebook icons on the bottom right of my shop pages, correctly promote the right shop (in this case, mine!). :-D

So, use these! ;-)

*Except product browsing is now a bit compromised in the Chrome browser. :-(

Shop Bug (loading issue)

None of the shop’s products are loading right now on the browsing/catalog pages, instead there’s a “loading” symbol of DOOM. I’m working to get this fixed STAT. I’ll update soon!

New, Improved Blog for the Shop!

Welcome to the new fabulous-ified blog for my shop on styleowner!

Coming from Tumblr or the web?

First of all, “what’s this shop and what’s StyleOwner?” (You ask.) My shop is on StyleOwner.com and has a lot of authentic designer fashions! Really, a LOT. We have stuff directly shipped from different companies like Saks Fifth Avenue, Singer22 and even straight from certain brands, like Nanette Lepore. It’s still within my own boutique-meets-department-store though, with our own cart. I stock my favorite brands, styles and trends - and you get this all-in-one yet curated experience. We actually stock over 3,500 items right now (partially thanks to offering beauty, home/cookware and even “pampering” foods!) and it will grow somewhat more. I’m putting in a lot of effort because it’s fun, has potential and that’s who I am (and, yes, I do have a bit of time right now, or else how could I dress this project up in so much love?).

(I mean just view the customization/style-matching I made here [compare] and on our Facebook page and check out how I keep the shop updated, as merely hinted by its “Live Feed” on the home page.)

Coming from Princess n’ the Spree / styleowner?

I moved the shop’s blog to Tumblr, where it now has enhanced features (including definitive blog aspects like commenting and RSS) and therefore is a bit “embiggened” - but hopefully not too much for Tumblr standards (need to keep time to focus on the store, itself, so it all works here on Tumblr!). ;-)

The visual streamlining and other details I’ve included should help you flow between shopping and content-reading fairly well, while this external blog engine offers a better experience for all with the as-mentioned commenting (and anything else Tumblr can offer). Leaving the top menu “blog” link internal with a little content and links from there offers a few benefits, too. There’s permanent space dedicated to social links (this is the only link area we get) with some focus left for the most crucial content for potential customers (the 5 Ws [there, but also here] and perhaps an FAQ soon) closer to the cart, where it’s most needed. All these features will help you keep track and in touch with me/the shop!

If there’s anything else I can add (or answer!) to improve your browsing experience, let me know! I will do what I can.

… Oh and those really old, cute by the way, posts down on the home page? Those are here because A) they were on my default Tumblr anyway and B) they’re great, and not unrelated, so why not keep ‘em?! Read more about this or view the oldest archive page (future purposes).

Ahhhhh, stylists … rarely is there leg, hip, arms, shoulder, cleavage … and ab. Wow, my brain would malfunction if that list were longer. So, yeah, the occasional tip of “show leg? Cover arms” = not enough now!

The consensus on the web has been to hide the hip bones. Keep ‘em for the beach, I guess! (Shop swim.)

Before you think that this Met Gala photo of (model) Anja Rubik might be posted a little late, I’ll just now say we’re still starting up this blog for the shop. :-D (We’re not even fully launched, still, but I wish we could have been before this event.)

So now you know to relax a little … perhaps grab a drink and do some shopping? Get on to our shopping recommendations here. ;-)

What: Princess n’ the Spree shop is a curated set of fashion, luxuries and gifts from many high-range designers as well as some more affordable brands (still products carefully selected). It includes fab current trends in addition to pieces reflecting the personal style and additional tastes of its owner (/ curator, merchandiser and even graphic artist) Elle.

That style embodies elements like: femininity, flattery (curves, etc.), romanticism and bags bags bags , shoes shoes shoes! Some individual aesthetics include: bows, ruffles, black/white, polka dots, vintage-inspired pieces, classic/prep, some modesty, and a little bit of a nod to big/favorite brands and their logo/famous pieces. (They scream “fashion” but don’t clutter the shop, I hope.)

Currently, the store’s all dressed up in pastels, brights and florals, of course!

Where: This shop is part of a new group of varied stores on styleowner.com, where it’s all about the curator’s (storeowner’s) personal style and even personal/entrepreneurial branding. I take a bit of a different (broader, for one) approach here, but that angle of focusing on store first, me second is a big part of my actual persona and business (or hobby) attitude (serious, professional, detailed, image-oriented).

Also, Princess n’ the Spree is still stocked with so much of my own girliness that it’s clear this shop is like a brand(/designer) itself, gorgeous to some, too twee to others. (?) It’s still fairly personal. And that’s OK. Valentino doesn’t stop making so many bows to be more like Gap! And that’s kind of the way it is here.

When/How (Shipping): Some important info you probably want to know is how our cartprocess and shipping work. Good news: we have our own cart! It’s probably very similar to the normal online-shopping experiences you’re used to. Also good news, since we “pull” items from stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and more, you actually get your shipments from companies like Saks Fifth Avenue (with all you expect from them in terms of packaging and customer service!) or even product manufacturers, themselves (like Nanette Lepore). No slouches!!

Why (shop here): A little of this-great-store, a little of that-one … we have several “pampering” (as I now say here) stores in one! There are also more great designers and brands to come and new products added all week long! (Do please make your requests, but note we’re limited to what’s in the catalog.) Also, if you share my style, well … I don’t need to explain that we’ve hand-picked loveliness for you!

Who: Oh, gosh, the hard part. ;-) … I’m Elle or “L.” I’m currently 30 years old, a writer (and aspiring fashion designer) and I love dogs, TV, feminism, styling my loved ones, and all sorts of design(ing), even some coding (I’d love “more” coding, but my abilities are just not there yet, haha). I also like to daydream about singing/songwriting but I all-but-gave-up the singing part; it does mean I do love me some leather with my lace and studs with my bows, though! Go rock! ;-)

So, you know I just “tried” out Tumblr as an extra, like many do use it. But it did not catch on with me then (but I get it now). So now as I see Tumblr as a great option for the whole blog for a new project, I can bet I’ll be here a lot now … I’m using my default blog with oldold + justafew posts — because they fit in just fine (mostly; I deleted a couple).

The new blog is Princess n’ the Spree - for my new store on StyleOwner.com. So yes, one thing that means is this will be kind of commercial. To my few followers, you may stick around (… or go). Obviously, that’s up to you. I invite you to stay, ‘cos I think I’ll be pretty chill and still me! ;-)
